Meet Bonnie

My four kids, ages seven to 12, were diagnosed with different behavior disorders like ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety and depression. And then my 11-year-old was simply defiant, and didn't like me very much.

I had read every single parenting book out there. I thought I was a great parent. I thought I was backbone parenting. But, when I walked by my 12-year-old son and touched him on the back one day, he went, “EW,” and then moved his body as if to say don't touch me.

And it was heartbreaking.

I went to my dad's house, and I was like, “Dad, I don't know how, but I'm going to find a way to empower all the kids." He was all like, “Yeah, that's nice, dear,” nearly patting me on the head.

I thought that I would have to get rich and famous, and then I could go to junior high schools and teach children about goals. I could help them believe in themselves.

I said, “What a great opportunity. I'll do it.” That's when I had a chance to realize that there was a way to guide kids versus adults telling them what to do.

I'd listen to what the kids wanted to learn about baseball and guide them toward their goals. I had a tremendous season of letting the kids learn the fundamentals and do something their way. I got into martial arts and earned my black belt. In 1994 I found myself in a position again being asked to coach white belts and train them.

I reflected back on my baseball years, and I was like, you know what? Moving forward, I'm going to teach my students the opposite of anything and everything negative, having no clue what that looked like but doing it in faith regardless.

And by doing that, my after-school martial art program made it into the Hall of Fame for the most creative after-school program in 2004. What an honor.

My 10-year-old daughter, Jennie, used to cry herself to sleep every night. It was always something. Her neck hurt, her stomach hurt, or her ankle hurt. Her teacher was mean. Her friends were picking on her. I'd tell her, “You're a great person,” every night at bedtime. Then, 24 hours later, we would repeat the process. And there were absolutely no real solutions in sight for any of these issues.

After I invited Thomas to my house and saw him speaking this special language, I started studying it. In my home, he spoke as he did with the kids in his martial arts school. I began to see things like my kids having a new zest for life. They were getting along instead of having sibling rivalry where I had to be the referee all day long.

My home started becoming cleaner and more in order. My daughter, Kyra, and her friend made me breakfast in bed one morning so they could earn a sleepover. It didn't matter that the pancake had a big long hair in it, right? The point was that they took the time to clean the kitchen and make me pancakes to earn a sleepover, which I thought was pretty powerful. They were also super proud of themselves and happy about it.

At this time, I was a leader in my business. I had more than 10,000 people in my organization who counted on me, but I had been doing my due diligence. What other parenting philosophy guides children's behavior with their goals?

Being in personal development for 18 years, I knew that the number one thing you're taught in any type of business or leadership role is set goals, create a plan, and follow the plan. So, I recognized that language right away.

I started doing some research. What other parenting philosophy guides children with goals?

I didn't find anything.

After six months of doing my due diligence and practicing Thomas' methods in my home, I saw a complete transformation in all four of my children.

I had this big jacuzzi bathtub. I turned the jets on, setting the timer for 20 minutes. I repeated what I call “positive God words.” Love. Peace. Joy. Happiness. Prosperity. Abundance. I intended to create positive energy and communicate directly with God because I was confused about what to do with my life.

I depended on my business for money to pay my mortgage. I was a single mom of four kids, and that was my only income. But, I saw something special with Creating Champions For Life.

I asked, “God, what do you want me to do?”

This crystal clear image came into my mind, saying, “Give everything you got to Creating Champions For Life.” I got out of the tub feeling happy about that idea.

I had no clue about the sacrifice it meant for Thomas and me. I phoned Thomas and said, “God just told me to give everything we got to Creating Champions For Life. I don't know what that looks like, but we should go for it.”

And he said, “Okay.” I didn't know precisely the price we would have to pay to pull this all together, but we were willing to pay it.

It's been over 10 years now, and it’s what gives us the ability to sit in front of you today.

We have clients worldwide, and their lives are transforming to the positive side of the spectrum.
